Born in Louisiana in 1951, raised in that great state. Finished LSU 1973, having studied English and Political Science. Lived in Florida for a year and a half, selling insurance and newspaper advertising. Moved to North Carolina in 1975, sold printing. Recorded two musical record albums, some tracks of which are available on http://www.careyrowland.com. Met Pat Flanigan, UNCA senior. at a coffeehouse. We moved to Boone NC in 1980, joined a church, raised three children. I worked construction. Wrote two novels, and started blogging.
